Abstract: In the study of the sedimentary dynamics, long time series records of the micro-geomorphologic evolution require the use of highly specific underwater camera. In this paper, an underwater camera system was designed for long time submarine observation. It has an automatic shooting function according to the pre-set time interval. Further, it is able to perform well in terms of water-tightness and anti-corrosiveness. In situ observations from the submarine dune field of the Taiwan Strait show that the system can fulfill the mission to record long time micro-geomorphologic evolution. The system provides an effective data support to further the study of the seabed morphologic dynamics
